General Appearance

The Havanese is a small, strong dog of a rectangular shape. He moves (in according to his character) very quickly and fleet-fooded. |

Open-minded, lively and friendly dog for families and companionship. The Havanese is very obedient and therefor a perfect for agility. He is very intelligent and because of his inquisitiveness easy to handle. With his playful, friendly and cute character he is a good playfellow of all (older) children. |

Coat & Care
|
Havanese have got few wooly undecoat - the over coat is long (but it reaches not the ground). It is soft, wavy or curly.
Brushing and combing every 2 days (minimum) till the age of 2 years is recommended. After that brushing and combing twice a week should suffice.

| Colors |
Rarely pure white or pure black, mostly fawn with all shade, brown, grey, anthracite or white with bigger and smaller markings in the colors mentioned before. Since December 1996 (newFCI-Standard) black-white and black are allowed, too. |
