General Appearance

The Shetland Sheepdog is a small, longhaired working dog of enormous beauty, but doesn´t appeare clumsy. |
| Character |
Loyal, affectionate, and responsive to his owner. The Sheltie is a dog full of spirits, that loves to run. Very friendly character and a pleasant companion. Agility (mini) is possible too: mobility, takeoff power and rapidity are qualities of the Sheltie. |

| Coat & Care |
The coat should be double, the outer coat consisting of long, straight, harsh hair; the undercoat short, furry, and so dense as to give the entire coat its "standoff" quality. The hair on face, tips of ears and feet should be smooth. Mane and frill should be abundant, and particularly impressive in males.
He should be brushed well twice a week - especially during shed. |
