We have got 2 Golden Retriever stud dogs: the older one is called Baddy and is golden, the younger, English dog is Merlin (which we present with pictures here) is blond and from spring 2004 on we will have a third English stud dog (golden) additionally.
Our dogs live with us or our daughter in the house - they are part of our lifes. We only would buy a stud dog after careful ancestry research, whose ancestors come from best and famous English bloodlines provably, which has got all checkups done and passes on excellent genes. Our 2 dogs have got all checkups done, are HD-, ED-, Patella- free, their eyes are checked, and they are staunch and "bulletproofed". They also have got excellent potential of heredity for health, character and look.
Merlin (photos) is 95 % english and his most famous ancestors are (among others) Westley Samuel, Nortonwood Troy, Nortonwood Faunus, Sansue Castalian, Westley Victoria + Marbella, etc....
Merlin is in great demand of breeders (who even have got own stud dogs) to mate with their bitches. Because of Merlin´s type and his super sensitive character, a mating with Merlin leads to a good breeding basis for them. Merlin is absolutely a "show dog"- that means he is well qualified for dog shows, because he masters the show with his pleasant mind and his balanced character very "cool". He is sensitive, very easy to handle on the leash, in no way dominant, and gets on with other male dogs well (you can´t say that about every stud dog!) - his ancestors are hunting dogs. In average he passes on 8 puppies, smallest litter: 6 puppies, biggest litters: 12 puppies.
